It is a great pleasure for me to write this message that Good Shepherd College Batticaloa
opens its doors to enroll new students in January 2009. We at Good Shepherd College will,
from the beginning provide to each child a quality education in a caring, nurturing
environment. We regard every student as a valued person whose mind, body and spirit all
need nurturing within a loving and caring environment. Our desire is that such an
environment would challenge the students to work out the focus and direction of their lives
and prepare them for life after college within the international community. The emphasis
will also be placed on the development of character which will result in healthy respect for
others and the environment.
Teaching will be by a group of qualified teachers, dedicated to guiding the child in the
attainment of academic excellence as well as character development. As the children of
today will be the leaders of tomorrow, we hope that the values inculcated in this college will
shine forth as a ray of light in this modern world.
As every child is a gift from God I pledge to take the responsibility to serve and guide this
institution with dedication and enthusiasm.
I take this opportunity to thank you for placing your trust and considering Good Shepherd
College as an option for the education of your children. We believe that Good Shepherd
college is worthy of your consideration and we hope that your choice will be mutually

From The Director Administration
I take pleasure in extending the message on this red letter day of Good Shepherd College
receiving the collaboration of Bangkok School of Management (BSM), Bangkok, Thailand
as its partner campus in the Eastern Sri Lanka.
Within these three years the college has made incredible and commendable
th achievements. From its birth on 19 January, 2009 until now, the number on roll has
dramatically increased by hundreds proving its caliber and the degree of recognition. The
management identifies the poor and the needy from the schools in Batticaloa district and
helps them both academically and otherwise.
The college which was started with Play Group to Grade 8 three years ago, stands today
with hundreds of students ranging from Play Group to IGCSE as a registered body under
the British Council. The first batch of IGCSE students are appearing for IGCSE edexcel
international examination for the first time in January, 2012 from our college. The
registration of the college with the New Era Academy-UK for Speech & Drama
Examinations is yet another milestone. It is remarkable here that out of the hundreds of
students who participated in the competition from the college, a good number of students
won platinum and gold medals at the national level competitions.
Thus, the improvement and achievements made within the three years by the college are
highly appreciable. At this juncture the accreditation with the BSM as one of its campuses
in Sri Lanka brings credits to our college and jubilation to all the parents, teachers,
students and all the citizens of the Eastern Province.
I take pride introducing the degree programmes through the magnanimity of the BSM at
lower cost comparatively. I wish the students of east to make the best use of these educational programmes.
